All Year FSC – Board of Directors Elections/Bios

DEBRA CURTIS
Having mastered front AND back crossovers as a child, Debra came back to skating at the age of 26 and entered her first competition at 34. She trains in El Segundo and in Torrance and has competed in 10 of the last 11 Pacific Coast Adult Sectionals and two U.S. Adult Championships. She is a past AYFSC board member, having served two terms between 2006-2012. During her tenure she served as Vice President for three years and Treasurer for one. Professionally, Debra is the Senior Vice President of Current Programming at Entertainment One, a global television company with corporate headquarters in Toronto. She oversees seven scripted series, including ROOKIE BLUE (ABC), HELL ON WHEELS (AMC) and WELCOME TO SWEDEN (NBC). She also serves as the Chair of the New Leadership Council for the Television Academy Foundation.

 

RAINER KOKOTAKIS
Rainer has been a Board Member of the AYFSC since 2011, and a club member since 2006 when she began skating as an adult competitor. Rainer is proud to have held the position of AYFSC Test Chair since 2010 and is looking forward to receiving her Bronze level Judge Appointment. Her daughter is a qualifying level competitive skater, and Rainer continues to be a member of the National Parents Committee and National Tests Committee for U.S. Figure Skating. Rainer has volunteered for the club extensively, chairing many competitions, including the All Year Open, Golden West, Southwest Pacific Regionals and Pacific Coast Adult Sectionals and recitals. Rainer has represented All Year at Governing Council as a delegate, and has assisted in producing Program Components Seminars. Originally from Mississippi, Rainer holds Bachelor’s, Masters and Specialist degrees in Biology and Molecular Genetics. Currently, Rainer and her husband, Nikos, own a photography company.

 

DAVID MENDELSON
David was born and raised in New York and became involved with skating when his daughter took up the sport at age five in Vermont. He was a board member of the Skating Club of Vermont, the Champlain Valley Skating Club and following their move to California, a member, then board member with AYFSC. He has been active with the board, marketing and programs, events and the AYFSC Jr. Board.
